Hello Everyone,

Last month seems to have flown by. We were very busy settling in, getting to know each other and making our room feel homely. The children love seeing photos of themselves and their friends, this has been a good opportunity to develop a sense of belonging at kindy and learn everybody’s names.

The children have also thoroughly enjoyed looking at the few family photos we have on our family tree. If we could get a few more of you to send in a family photo to add the children would be very excited to discover some new additions.

On top of the lockers is our Learning Story - which contains photos and information on what your children did at kindy during the day.

We will be emailing weekend sheets and we would love it if you took the time to tell us about your child weekend so we can extend on this at the Centre. Parental input is a valued part of our programming.

Please remember to check your child’s pocket (outside the room, in the hallway) each day for your child’s daily slip, which tells you all about your child's day. Our newsletter and important notes/messages are also put in your child’s pocket.

This month we have started our tooth brushing program. The Centre will provide each child with a toothbrush, toothpaste and a case. We will be brushing our teeth after rest time each day. Our tooth brushing program helps children to develop good dental hygiene. If you have any questions about this please see either Leticia or myself.

We will be celebrating a ‘Taste of Harmony on Tuesday March 24. It is all about celebrating the diverse range of cultures we have in Australia and what better way to do this than with food!. The children are encouraged to come dressed in traditional clothes from another country or wear something orange and to bring a plate of traditional food to share with everyone. As we have children with allergies in the Centre, we ask that you provide a list of ingredients with your dish and also NO NUTS. This is always a fun-filled day and a great way for the children to learn about diversity and inclusive behaviours.

On March 25th we will have Uncle Boomerang coming to the centre to put on an educational show about indigenous Australian culture.

We would like to wish a big happy birthday to:

Gaheon February 28th

Soul March 5th

Taichi March 8th

Monty March 10th

That’s all for now, thank you

Anne and Leticia
